Last year AAA made great progress towards expanding the reach of anthropology through challenging perspectives on race and diversity, responding to emerging issues around the interaction of anthropological expertise and the needs of the military and intelligence communities, establishing new publishing partnerships, and providing greater opportunity for member involvement.
Specifically, the 2007 annual report covers landmark events such as the successful launch of the RACE: Are We So Different? traveling museum exhibit, the issuance of the final report of the AAA Commission on the Engagement of Anthropology with the US Security and Intelligence Communities (CEAUSSIC) and the new publishing partnership with Wiley-Blackwell. The report also features a profile on the Society for Anthropology in Community Colleges (SACC) and comments on advocacy actions undertaken last year.
