The Council on Anthropology and Education (CAE) is a section of the American Anthropological Association that was founded in 1968 to advance and stimulate scholarship on schooling in social and cultural contexts and on human learning both inside and outside of schools. CAE members receive the quarterly journal, Anthropology and Education
Quarterly.
The two amendments to the CAE By-Laws were approved on May 15, 2007. One is a new Mission and Purpose statement and the other concerns the length of Presidential terms. To see the new By-Laws, go to

CAE maintains two listservs. One is designed for all members and the other is designed for students.
The main CAE listserv is a moderated listserv affiliated with H-Net and open to everyone interested in anthropology and education. To subscribe, learn more about the listserv or read recent message, go to CAE page on H-Net.

The 2007 AAA Annual Meeting will be held from Wednesday, November 28, through Sunday, December 2, 2007, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. To view a list and for more information: CAE sessions.
The 2006 AAA Annual Meeting was held from Wednesday, November 15, through Sunday, November 19, at the San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, CA. The theme was "Critical Intersections/Dangerous Issues."

The 2007 AAA annual meeting theme is "Difference, (In)Equality, and Justice."
The deadline for paper submissions was Friday, March 30, 2007, 5 pm EST. As soon as CAE hears from AAA about what sessions are part of the program, we will post them in one long list and by each committee. So stay tuned!
