Add Subsite Permissions
Use this dialog to selectively assign or remove privileges for users and groups within the current subsite. Access this dialog through the Subsite General Security dialog when adding new users or groups or changing permissions for existing users and groups, as shown below. Selecting or deselecting options here enables or disables menu options and functions for the selected user or group.
Note: These settings are not content-specific and do not control security for individual pages or Elements contained within pages. Instead, they are general security permissions that apply at the subsite level.
- Subsite Administration - Assigns full administrative rights to the user or group for the current subsite. These rights include access to all Subsite Administration dashboard options. Selecting this option automatically enables all other options.
- Save As Element - Allows the user to add Elements to the Element Gallery through the Save As Element option in the Element menu. See the CommonSpot Content Contributor's Reference for details.
- Create Keywords - Allows the user to create new keywords within this subsite. Users and groups with this permission can create new keywords within the Create New Page, Create New Page Set, Upload New Image, Upload New Document, and other content creation and editing dialogs.
- Manage Subsite Keywords - Allows the user to manage all keywords within this subsite. Having this permission enables access to the Manage Keywords dialog for the current subsite.
- Create Pages - Allows the user to create pages within the subsite. Having this permission activates the New - Page option.
- Manage Page Sets - Gives the user rights to create new page sets within this subsite. Having this permission activates the Page Set option in the New menu. See the CommonSpot Content Contributor's Reference for details.
- Create Publication - Allows the user to create feeds and other publications within this subsite. See the CommonSpot Content Contributor's Reference for details.
- Create Subsites - Allows the user to create subsites under this subsite.
- Create Templates - Allows the user to create new templates within this subsite. Having this permission enables the Save as Template option in the Templates menu for adding new templates to the subsite. See the CommonSpot Content Contributor's Reference for details.
- Manage Base Templates - Allows the user to register new base templates within the subsite. Having this permission provides access to the Subsite Administration Base Templates menu.
- Register External URLs - Allows the user to register external URLs in CommonSpot. Having this permission enables the Registered URL option in the New menu for adding new URLs to the subsite. See the CommonSpot Content Contributor's Reference for details.
- Subsite Maintenance - Allows the user to clear cache for this subsite and perform other maintenance activities for this subsite.
- Upload Images - Grants rights to upload new images within this subsite. This permission activates the Image option in the New menu for uploading new images to the subsite. See the CommonSpot Content Contributor's Reference for details.
- Upload Files Without Restrictions - Allows the user to upload documents to this subsite without any restrictions. This permission enables Upload Files option in the Tools menu. When selected, CommonSpot does not check for CFML when this user or group uploads content.
- Upload Files With Restrictions - Allows the user to upload documents from Upload Files option in the Tools menu, but restricts file types.
- Use Subsite Administrator page - Provides access to the Subsite Administration dashboard.
