Add XML Publication Format
To add an XML Publication Format, click Add Publication Format from the XML Publication dialog.
This dialog opens in edit mode for existing formats, as shown above and has the following fields:
- Name - the unique name for this format.
- Description - a detailed description of what the format will do and look like when used.
- Publication Definition - the Publication Definition that this format is designed to handle. Note that when editing an XML Publication Format this field is read-only. When you add an XML Publication Format and specify the Publication Definition, it cannot be changed.
- XSL Transformation - what XSL should be used to convert the XML to the desired format. Note that these XSL documents are located in the '/_cs_xmlpub/xsl/' directory from within the root of your site. Existing documents can be modified and new ones can be created.
- Supports Syndication - by checking this box, XML Publications built with this format type are available as "Live Bookmarks" (or others).
Access the Edit XML Publication Format dialog by clicking the edit icon for an existing format in the XML Publication Formats dialog. Edit Publication Formats displays the location of the XSL file that you need to update. In the example below, the file name is simple-atom10.xsl and its location is at C:/web/cs50/demo/_cs_xmlpub/xsl/.
Click Save to complete the modification of the data for this dialog.
