Database Conversion
Use this migration tool if:
- You need to move from one database type to another (for example, from Oracle to SQL Server)
- You need to move from an unsupported database version (for example, from SQLServer 2000 to SQLServer2005)
Review status in the CommonSpot 6.0 Compatible column, select the appropriate data source, and click the Migrate button in the Action column. Review "System Requirements" in the CommonSpot Installation Guide for compatibility information.
The Migration tool prompts for database type. Select the database running on the target server and click Next.
The Data Source Information dialog displays. Complete the following fields:
- Database Name: Required. Enter the name of the new database.
- Database Server: Required. Enter the IP address or host name of the database server.
- Port: Required. Enter the port for accessing the database server.
- Database User ID: Required. Enter a unique user name to access the database.
- Note: This user name cannot be shared with any other CommonSpot data sources.
- Database Password: Required. Enter the password associated with the above user ID.
- ColdFusion Administrator Password: The ColdFusion password supporting this instance ofCommonSpot.
Click Migrate to select the new database type.
