Each year, the American Anthropological Association (AAA) serves as a sponsor of National Humanities Advocacy Day, an event coordinated by the National Humanities Alliance. Representatives from AAA and other humanities-related organizations participate in a two-day event for educators, scholars and other professionals to promote federal support for research, education, and public programs in the humanities. This year, events will take place March 8-9 at the George Washington University Marvin Center, as well as various locations on Capitol Hill.
We’d like to extend a special invitation for AAA members to meet national leaders and others who shape humanities policy, participate in policy briefings and interact with Congressional staff. Further information about the two-day program, including registration fees and local hotel accommodations can be found at http://www.nhalliance.org/events/2010-am-had/program/index.shtml.
Please don’t miss out on this great opportunity! If you have any questions, comments or concerns about AAA’s role in National Humanities Advocacy Day, please contact Damon Dozier, AAA Director of Public Affairs at (703) 528-1902 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
