Annual Meeting Call for Volunteers

Open Call for Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

To ensure the meeting runs smoothly, AAA is looking for a limited number of undergraduate students to volunteer their time and talent. We are looking for volunteers to assist in staffing booths, greeting attendees, assisting members and reporting for Anthropology News.

The critical work that student volunteers do does not go unrecognized. Students who provide six or more hours working at the booths and other onsite activities will receive a free event registration to the American Anthropological Association's 2013 Annual Meeting. Students who volunteer to write will enjoy the visibility of having their work on Anthropology-News.org, website of Anthropology News - an internationally renowned publication.

Volunteers must be able to attend a training session on Tuesday, November 19 from 5:30 to 6:30pm at the Chicago Hilton.

To sign up to volunteers, please complete the Student Volunteer Application (PDF). Return the completed application with a copy of your student identification card to Joslyn Osten (josten@aaanet.org).

Other Opportunities
Anthropology News Reporters - needed on an ongoing basis throughout the entire AAA Annual Meeting to report on sessions, workshops and events. Interested students should submit a brief writing sample, biographical sketch, and proposed beat to Amy Goldenberg (agoldenberg@aaanet.org) to be considered. Please review the online program to help decide on their proposed beat. Students who volunteer to write will enjoy the visibility of having their work in an internationally renowned publication, Anthropology News. Volunteer reporters are not eligible for a free registration fee.
