The SAR would like to thank the members of the Prize Committee, Adeline Masquelier, Michael Lambek, Robert Hefner, Ellen Badone and chair Andrew Buckser, for their time and commitment. Over 40 outstanding books were considered by the committee for the 2007 prize. The wide range of topics and theoretical perspectives represented by these books reflect the excitement and high quality of current work in the anthropology of religion.
