TT – SUNY Purchase – Ritual/Religion/Performance/Media/Tech

The Anthropology program at Purchase College, SUNY seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor with research and teaching expertise in the areas of ritual, religion, and performance, and whose approach to these topics engages themes of media, technology, transnationalism and globalization. Geographical focus should complement the expertise of existing faculty. The successful candidate will contribute to general education as well as to allied programs in Media, Society & the Arts, Theater & Performance, Environmental Studies, or New Media. A senior research project is a college-wide requirement and signature feature of the Purchase undergraduate curriculum.  Therefore, potential for publishing high quality scholarly work and a passion for working closely with students on anthropological research are essential.
