CFP: AFA column in Anthropology News

We are looking for submissions for the AFA’s monthly column in the
Anthropology News Section Notes. The column is an excellent
opportunity to publish short research reports and announce new books.
We invite submissions from graduate students, professors, and applied
anthropologists across all the subdisciplines. Previous authors have
told us that publishing in the column was an easy and useful way to
widen their professional network.

There is a 700 word limit for each column. If you would like to
publish it online, the word limit is raised to 1000.

We welcome contributions and reports on many subjects. We are also
interested in coordinating our column with the AN thematic series, so
please submit if your research is related to one of the following:

February 2012 issue (deadline of December 15): Boundaries
(complementing the annual meeting theme of “Traces, Tidemarks and
Legacies”)
March (deadline of January 15): Nutrition
April (deadline of February 15): Law
May (deadline of March 15): Methods (including but not limited to the
relationship between qualitative and quantitative methodologies)

Tell us about your research, your concerns, and your suggestions for
future columns.  Let’s highlight the excellent work our members are
doing!

We look forward to hearing from you.
