Topical focus can include, but is not limited to, environment and health, environmental justice, environmental media and communication, resource use, sustainability, climate change, disasters and aftermaths, food security, and globalization as it relates to environmental crisis and regulation. Geographical area open. Preference will be given to candidates who are actively engaged in a program of field research and who are willing to develop a capstone undergraduate research experience outside the classroom. Evidence of a strong record of scholarship required. PhD in Anthropology and teaching experience required. Candidate will be expected to teach Environmental Anthropology as an introductory course, as a mid-level course with a regional focus, and as an upper-level undergraduate seminar. Also expected to teach Anthropological Thought in rotation. This position is part of a multidisciplinary cluster-hiring initiative designed to deepen and broaden the Environmental Studies program as well as to enhance traditional academic departments.
