Appalachia Educational Laboratory
Appalachia Educational Laboratory (AEL) serves as the regional educational laboratory for Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. AEL's work includes a longitudinal study of implementation of the Kentucky Education Reform Act.

ARC Associates is a non-profit organization in Oakland, California which is dedicated to promoting educational excellence and equity for underserved students of diverse backgrounds.
cy.Scan research focuses on elementary literacy and math, middle school science, gender issues, ways that technology can enhance community-based learning and using technology to improve the validity of research.
Institute for Community Research
The Institute for Community Research, Hartford, CT, with a multiethnic staff of 60, including 15 youth researchers, conducts local/national applied research in educational reform, substance abuse and AIDS prevention, community and heritage arts, and activism through research.
Research for Action (RFA) is a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization engaged in educational research and reform. RFA work includes highly participatory research, as well as more traditional policy studies.
