The Society for the Anthropology of Religion is pleased to announce the results of the 2008 competition for the Clifford Geertz Prize in the Anthropology of Religion.

The winning books were selected from an outstanding field of almost 40 nominees through a stringent juried competition. The Society would like to thank all of those who submitted or nominated books, and especially the members of the jury, for taking part in the process.
