We apologize for the out-of-date condition of our website. An entirely new website is under development and should be online by Spring 2009.

In the meantime we offer here a few essential updates. If you need further information before this site is replaced with the new one please contact the current SHA President, Frederic Gleach.

2009 SHA Prizes
Each year we hold competitions for a series of prizes honoring ethnographic writing of different kinds: poetry and short fiction, graduate and undergraduate student papers, and for book-length works the Victor Turner Prize for Ethnographic Writing.
