Welcome to the Society for Psychological Anthropology home page.
The Society for Psychological Anthropology (SPA) of the American
Anthropological Association was founded in 1977. SPA is a broad,
multidisciplinary organization of individuals interested in
cultural, psychological, and social interrelations at all levels.
The Society for Psychological Anthropology sponsors biennial meetings; our next 2009 SPA Biennial Meetings will be held on March 27-29, 2009 in Asilomar, CA.
NEW: The SPA is pleased to offer two new funding opportunities! The Lemelson Student Fellows Program provides funds for initial field research for students normally in their first or second year of graduate school. The Lemelson/SPA Conference Fund provides funds for conferences at SPA members' host institutions on significant topics in the field of psychological anthropology.
